Getting to Know Ken Greenberg

Ken and Nancy Greenberg

Ken was born in New York but as a young boy, his family moved to Miami, Florida where he was raised and attended public schools. After graduating from the University of Florida, Ken returned to Miami to start his professional career and family. It was there that Ken met his wife of 32 years, Nancy. They are the proud parents of 3 grown and successful sons, Matthew, Andrew, and Daniel.

Having moved to Central Florida from Miami, with all of its traffic, overcrowding, and very high cost of living, Ken and Nancy researched the best communities in which to live and upon visiting Winter Springs, the City immediately felt like the best place to establish roots for years to come. In 2010, the Greenberg family fell in love with the Tuscawilla Community in Winter Springs because of its beauty and peaceful nature and are proud to call Winter Springs their home.

Shortly thereafter, Ken got involved in his new Hometown and has been deeply involved since. He served on 4 City Advisory committees and on each committee, served in a leadership capacity of Chairman or Vice Chairman. Ken’s most recent position was as the Chairman of the Tuscawilla Lighting and Beautification District (TLBD). This Committee is responsible for maintaining the beautiful landscape of Tuscawilla, street lights, and the spectacular fountains. Under Ken’s leadership, the fountains were overhauled, landscape and irrigation were greatly improved… on time and under budget. Given Ken’s tireless dedication to, and love of our community, becoming a City Commissioner was the natural progression, which has come to fruition as Ken Greenberg currently serves as your Winter Springs Commissioner for District 3.

Ken is a highly skilled businessman, with a long history of entrepreneurial and profitable ventures. Currently, Ken serves as the CEO of US Hospitality Group, a well-established hotel development firm. He is also the President of a diversified Licensed Real Estate Commercial Brokerage. Additionally, Ken has a strong professional career in Banking where he last served as a Vice President of IndyMac Bank, which was one of the largest and most aggressive lending institutions in the Country.

Ken has always strived to give back to his community and to that end, he served on the Board of Directors of The International Center for Religion and Diplomacy (ICRD), based in Washington, DC. He was a founding Board Member of the Florida Business Brokers Association and has served on a variety of Boards. Ken is also a recipient of a “Key to the County”, awarded to him by the Mayor of Miami-Dade County for his contributions in mentoring and growing jobs within the minority communities.

Ken is an avid sports fan, especially of college football and his beloved Florida Gators. He has been passionate about politics from youth, and always taken an active role in campaigns he believes in. As empty nesters, Ken and Nancy enjoy travel, socializing with friends, and fine dining.
